Sometimes I'm OK with the Eddie Murphy of recent years. He's not perfect but there's still more in just his hint of funny than most other supposedly funny people have when they're working their hardest. I can't imagine that A THOUSAND WORDS will be some boomeranging masterpiece to the Murphy of lore. I just know that he's as old as he is in the game with only 48 acting credits to his IMDB resume. Only 2 more than his female co-star and this week's Hot or Not feature.
Because I really don't care if you believe that I need to be PC on a site where we usually feature women of color as often as Fox news might get its stories correct, I want to say this: I love that Washington looks black. While she's gotten the straightened hair that still winks at commercial Hollywood in that "nappy still doesn't sell yet" whisper, Kerry is most distinctively black. I remember being quite annoyed with Details magazine when they recently featured her in a hot skin-filled shot - lightened extensively with Photoshop.
Kerry has that long, tall, lithe body that screams to be dressed in couture. Looking at her makes it hard for me to believe that she's only 5'4" tall. Proportioned perfectly, with nothing too thin and nothing too misaligned, watching at her move like a rhythmic stream as she makes her way down a red carpet is one of my favorite things. She's old school glamour, even if the old school hadn't caught onto just how beautiful diversity was yet.
It's a long held personal opinion of mine that if you're a truly amazing actor, most people are going to overlook you, forget your name, not give you the recognition that you deserve. Because when you're a REALLY good actor, people won't notice that you're acting. It will be fluid, natural, easy. How she could be the blind girlfriend of The Thing in THE FANTASTIC FOUR movies, to effortlessly getting you to feel for her in MOTHER AND CHILD, Washington is gorgeous, talented, and a complete gem. Is she hot? DUH.
What do you think of Kerry Washington?
