So, going over last week, it appears that Michelle Trachtenberg
is on the big fat hotties list. Now if we could only get her to be cast in some more roles, we'd be set. Another actress who I got into an argument over today was this week's selection. I had someone tell me that the only thing they remembered her from was MEAN GIRLS and I thought that was kind of cruel, considering how LiLo is still clinging to that like it was her swan song. So let's discuss one of my favorite Hollywood babes instead.
I fell in love with McAdams when she was working that stripper pole in THE HOT CHICK, possessed by the soul of Rob Schneider. And for someone who even had to pretend that they had a little Schneider in them, I think McAdams pulled it off in spades. Sure, Schneider was supposed to be the star and co-star Anna Faris got more screen time, but the movie was focused around the snotty brat character that McAdams was playing. That pink lingerie set of hers... still one to dream about.
After MEAN GIRLS and (excuse me while I vomit in my mouth a little bit) THE NOTEBOOK, McAdams dialed the hotness down the only way actresses in Hollywood know how. She went full brunette for RED EYE and THE FAMILY STONE. (And yes, I know I'm skipping over the OLD SCHOOL goes to a wedding movie because I'm one of the people who thought it was lame, aside from Jane Seymour.) Combine her tough cookie with Cillian Murphy's creepy version of what Robert Mitchum would have done with the role of Jackson Rippner and you had some great movie watching. Add her in scenes next to Sarah Jessica Parker and you have two hours of my life I wish I had back.
Looking over McAdam's credentials, I suppose my friend might have been right in saying that she'd only known her for one movie. Which makes me both happy and sad at the same time. Happy that it's not for THE NOTEBOOK and sad that McAdams doles her time out on screen sparingly now that she's considered a hot commodity. I'm looking forward to her in Guy Ritchie's "I'm now free from Material Hell" SHERLOCK HOLMES in 2009. Oh, and the fact that she's broken up with Ryan Gosling again makes me happy on both sides of that equation.
