The world is not a safe place anymore. Gone are the days when actors and actresses with highly unusual names changed them to something more palatable to the movie-going public. There's Nora Arnezeder in the more prominent female role in SAFE HOUSE and while I'll throw her a pass for being French, there's also this week's lower profile actress from that movie too. Will you overlook not knowing how to say her name in bed if she's the kind of woman you want in bed in the first place?
Tanit Phoenix
Tanit means "Goddess of Love" or "Goddess of Life & Death" in Phoenician. The two definitions seem wildly different to me, but you take this former model and add in her beauty to the fact she's been referred to as an "animal whisperer" by the animal rights groups she works with and I can see how she's a lovely contradiction in terms.
Many small roles in fairly big movies (this week's release as well as LORD OF WAR) and decent sized roles in straight to DVD movies (DEATH RACE 2 and LOST BOYS: THE THIRST) means I've probably seen her, can't remember her and it wouldn't matter anyhow. Her largest role was on a Cinemax series called "Femme Fatales." I don't pay for premium cable. From the cursory look of it, the show doesn't look very premium.
Ultimately I think Tanit is hot, if only by looking at pictures of her. She was born in South Africa, which makes her just exotic enough to be a slightly better breed of random hottie. And anyone who works with a charity called Touch a Monkey's Heart kinda rocks just because for a charity, that name is loads of awesome sauce.
