Because I'm a regular chick, no matter how hard I try to deny it, I love the movie MURIEL'S WEDDING. That was the first time I watched Toni Collette dominate the movie screen with her infectious smile and eyes brimming with emotion. She wasn't the prettiest girl, that was the point of the movie. But she was simply fantastic to watch and even more heartening to champion for.
For years Collette has kicked around every genre imaginable, showing her versatility and remarkable ability to fit in with even the most unlikely of co-stars. (SHAFT, anyone?) Now firmly in the era of her acting life where she's relegated to mom characters, Toni has the talent to not make any of them one dimensional.
I think that if I was a regular dude who didn't have high standards of beauty, it would be easy to think Collette was a goddess. Thing is, she's so multi-faceted and takes that regular girl look into a sense of extremely sexy self-confidence, as a regular dude, I don't know if I would feel worthy of her. She is simply hot as hell from the inside, shaping the outside like a prismatic illusion.
