Once upon a time, there was some cuteness to Sarah Jessica Parker. She had (and there's still hints of it in there, from time to time) a quirkiness to her that oozed out of that wide smile of hers, helping to cloak her in a fog that covered up the imperfections that being Matthew Broderick's beard brought on. I have had moments where I really liked SJP (Big S, little a, little n, big D, little e, big E, star at the end!) but none of them are great enough to manage to make me less than grumbly-pants about how they've cast AnnaSophia Robb
as the young version of Carrie Bradshaw for the adaptation of "The Carrie Diaries." Just look at her! (And you can, she's 18 now...) There is not a branch on the ugly stick tree of life that could knock the cuteness out of this girl to plausibly allow you to believe that she would grow into Parker. And I swear, I really DO like SJP! I just like ASR a heckuva lot more!
