Irina Shayk works up a sweat with her friend Victoria

We've been showing off different kinds of pics from super model hottie Irina Shayk lately, from candid stuff to magazine spreads. Irina is hot in anything she does, but I think I'm more partial to the candid stuff. There's so much I enjoy about Irina, but the thing these pics illustrate is how much more real she is than many of her model compatriots. For instance, she's got a little tummy there and the ever so slightest suggestion of cellulite on the backs of her legs. Clearly none of that is sufficient to limit her ability to look great in a bikini or whatever, but it does keep her looking like a real person. I wonder if this is the answer to all the backlash against super thin models nowadays. I have noticed a bit more roundness in some of the latest big time fashion spreads. Is there a new standard in modelling developing? Are the corporate high-ups actually pulling models off the workout machinery rather than chaining them to them? Sounds good to me.

Irina Shayk is a very sexy woman, and I actually don't think she needs to lose weight at all, but saying she looks like a "real" person because she has "a little tummy and the slightest suggestion of cellulite", is ridiculous. People with toned legs and stomachs look like real people as well, and models are not the only ones that can have a body like that. Irina Shayk was/is a Sport's Illustrated model, and as a rule they are not quite as toned as, for example, Victoria's Secret Angels, or as skinny as High Fashion editorial/runway models. So even though Irina Shayk is a big name in modeling, I would not use her for an example on how the industry is changing to "rounder" models, because Irina does not do all types of modeling, unlike someone like Karlie Kloss who does pretty much every kind of modeling, and then some. So it all depends, I think, on what type of modeling your talking about, if your talking about Sports Illustrated, then I would say your right about them moving to "rounder" models, judging by Kate Upton's popularity. I am curious though, what other "big time fashion spreads" you are referring to that are moving towards the "rounder" model?

Check out the pics of Barbara Palvin's VS spread I posted recently. Check out anything with Kelly Brook lately. Look at all these so-called "plus-sized" models. Natural shapes and womanly curves all over the place there. That hasn't been the case for models in a long time. It's good to see.

I am not saying there is no such thing as curvy models, or that they dont have their place in modeling, i just dont think Irina Shayk is indicative of the industry changing. Kelly Brook isn't really a top model, she is even more specific in her type of modeling than Irina Shayk. She might bigger in the UK, but not here. As for Barbara Palvin, I did see that post, and I am very familiar with her work, but I would not call those photos curvy per se, nor would I call her a curvy model. Victoria's

Victoria's Secret also gives her push-up bras, and they photoshop her to make her more curvy(like they photoshop everything to make their models more curvy), so Victoria's Secret isn't the best example because they add curves. If you look at the spread she had for Glamour Magazine in June, or her editorial for Elle Magazine last week, or even her Instagram photos, it is a better representation of her curves, because she is way less "round" or curvy, in those photos. Not to mention, in other VS photos she isn't that curvy either, she has put on like 15 pounds since 2010-2011, but that's normal at that age. I can actually think of a few models that are even bigger names in top modeling, that have lost weight recently, Behati Prinsloo being the best example.
