There's something I've noticed about most runway and fashion magazine models. They don't really have to be beautiful. They have to be skinny and possess a certain body frame over which the clothing hangs and isn't disturbed by any of their curves. They have to be "striking," even if that means they have big bushy eyebrows like Cara Delevingne or huge gaps between their teeth like Jessica Hart/Vanessa Paradis/Ashley Smith/Lily Aldridge/Georgia May Jagger... and too many more. Because what you're thinking when you look at Delevingne or any of those picket fence mouths is... Wow. Look at that. You can't look away from that feature of theirs that doesn't conform. It's a bit confounding.
Now there's the whole celebrity lesbian girlfriend angle that Cara has been working, first with Michelle Rodriguez and (speculated) now with Selena Gomez. She's a hardcore smoker who looks as if she smells vaginal in that unpleasant way (you know what I'm talking about) and with all the Photoshop and makeup and hair people she can look outstanding. But on the streets, in the casual sense, it's just a big ol' mess.
It makes me think of Gia Carangi, made more (in?)famous posthumously when she was portrayed by Angelina Jolie. Gia wasn't really a beautiful woman either. Striking, yes. And a lesbian, which is why I'm making that connection to Delevingne. I dunno. I need to stop thinking about it because it confuses me far too much.
