Michael Bay is hoping that TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION having Mark Wahlberg in the cast will help to wash the Shia LeBeouf taste out of our collective audience mouth when it gets released in June this upcoming summer. I can only imagine that's his reasoning in making sure that they cast gets a total overhaul.
That line of logic might have something to do with Nicola Peltz getting cast in the main young female role this time around. Instead of going with a model like he did with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, which was met with mostly negative feedback, Bay is playing it smart by keeping with an actress, however briefly established she is, similar to when he cast Megan Fox in the first TRANSFORMERS movie. Peltz is probably ringing bells for those of you who have been keeping up with the A&E series "Bates Motel," where she's playing Bradley, that cute blonde who beds Norman and then totally disses the budding psychopath.
At Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards this weekend, Peltz was a display of wow in her tight white two piece outfit, showing off her svelte frame and tidy, easy beauty which easily bid homage to how Fox appeared in her earlier, non-surgically enhanced days. As for whether or not Nicola will have the same impact, I guess we have a few more months to determine that.
