I'm not sure that I'm digging this canary yellow dress that looks as if it were made from couch fabric (even if it keeps with the standard Philly family decor), but it's a Valentino, so I think I'm supposed to like it just because it's a classic designer label. Just as many people feel that they must trust the Golden Globes or the Oscars to spell out for them what's considered award-worthy. I loved Jennifer Lawrence in SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK but against the more heralded Jessica Chastain, she doesn't have a chance. So I wonder, when I see these pictures of JLaw at the 2013 Critics Association Awards (where she tied with Emmanuelle Riva for best actress), I'm thinking it's less of a tickle in her throat and more of a covered up "BULLSHIT!" getting coughed behind that hand. I'll keep watching what she does no matter what the awards people say because, personally, I like her. That's a better barometer for what's good, as far as I'm concerned.
