The book version of CARRIE has always been one of my favorite offerings from the indomitable Stephen King as well as the original 1976 adaptation of the book, even if the first version, starring the incomparable Sissy Spacek, was a bit off the written word. The newest adaptation promises to be a more true-to-pulp version of the original story, with the great talents of Julianne Moore, Judy Greer and Chloe Grace Moretz in the main roles of mother, caring teacher and title character.
The actresses were all on hand at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood on Monday night, with Greer and Moretz taking to one another lovingly before the cameras. Moretz, who was decked out in Valentino couture, spoke about the universal appeal of the story by saying, "I think that everyone has experienced bullying at some point in their lives, whether they're just someone making you feel inadequate or making you feel not skinny enough, not pretty enough, or your hair's not good enough." The movie hits theaters this October 18th.
