Karen Gillan was at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour event the other night, looking pretty hot in her little black dress. This time around she's giving the Doctor Who bit a rest and instead promoting her new TV movie on the Ovation channel, WE'LL TAKE MANHATTAN, about a love affair between a model and cameraguy in 1960s NYC. Good to see her moving beyond Doctor Who, especially after the inevitable announcement made last month about her character. In deference to those of you who don't like spoilers, I wont go into details there. If you're familiar with Doctor Who's legacy, you can probably guess about what's in store for Amy Pond.
Whatever happens with her current claim to fame, I fully expect Karen to have a bright future ahead of her. I can't imagine anyone letting her languish in obscurity. Sure, she can be a handful off the set, but she's young and adventurous. She'll get over that, hopefully. What's important is that she's talented and gorgeous. They should always keep the door open for someone like that.
