Well, I know which of you Schmoes consider Kim Kardashian a useless waste of space, but considering that she garners some of the biggest feedback from both sides of the fence, I have to point out that the haters now have PETA on their sides.

On her Twitter account, the sometimes-actress, usually "reality" show star and all-time attention whore, posted a picture of herself during a photoshoot in which a black cat was part of the spread. The problem stems from the fact that she's holding the cat up by the scruff of its neck. PETA lost their minds (of course) and blasted her by saying that �Kim Kardashian isn�t the only person who mistakenly thinks that because a mother cat picks up her kittens by the scruff of the neck that a supportive hand under the rump isn�t needed."

In her defense, Kim responded by saying that, "Rest assured, the owner and vet were on set and showed me how to pick him up. The cat was not harmed in any way and is perfectly fine! I love animals and would never do anything to harm animals.". Hell, be honest. I know that I love the fleas right off my own cat and the first thing I do when she gets her naughty ass up on the kitchen counter is get a good grip on the scruff of her neck and place her back down on the floor. It's certainly better than my roommate from back in the day who used get his cat high on marijuana all the time. Damn that cat got the munchies.

Hmm are you kidding me, No Abuse there, that is just a proper way to pick up a cat many people don't know of, it incapacitates them. For instance I own a half Bengal breeded cat, with some of the sharpest claws I know, and if you don't hold him like that sometimes to clean him or apply flea crap, he would slice you up worse then a ninja with a katana.

Uh, pain? I have picked my cats up by the neck like that and they have never screamed in pain. They don't run from me. I don't abuse my cats. No, I don't carry a cat like that nor do I hold them suspended, but this is far from abuse.

but I'm with KK on this one. PETA are a bunch of attention-hungry whores who do more damage to the cause of animal rights than good. They're just blowing a minor incident out of proportion so someone will notice them.

Easy fellas. First off, PETA is a group of nutjobs that take things WAY too far. Second, I'm sure this wasn't KK's idea and if they had the cat's owner on set and they instructed her to hold the cat like that, if she's not privy to "proper cat handling" then I'm sure she didn't think much of it. I know I wouldn't. PS - cats suck. Dogs rule.

Anyone who loves cats...

... and knows anything about cats, knows that this maneuver simply makes a cat easier to handle. Is it the nicest way to hold a cat for a photo? No. But it's far from abuse.

PETA is making it much more difficult for animal lovers like my wife and me.

I worked in a Humane Society for 4 years, stupid misinformation like this is why people get bent out of shape when they get charged with animal cruelty or are denied pet adoptions.

So one rough treatment is better than the other? That's like saying "Well I kicked my cat, but at least I didn't run him over!" No offense CL, but Nivekian has a point. Even when my cat is acting like a royal dick, I pick him up by the shoulders and cradle his belly. People who still hold cats like that should be held like that to see how it feels.

I have one cat and she's spoiled. Top shelf cat food, expensive flea treatments for when the newest neighbors bring in fleas with their yapping mutt, regular visits to the vet (unlike most pet owners) for shots, she's been spayed... everything. And I adopted her at a year old, so she's been rescued from a "family" who abandoned her when the cost became too much for them to deal with. A quick snatch and light placement on the ground doesn't make her screech or struggle, she just sits there and looks at me like I'm in the wrong and she owns the place. Such is the personality of a cat. And my opinion on looking at the kitten in the picture is that it looks bored more than anything. I believe that the owners as well as Animal Welfare would have been on a set for a photoshoot involving animals to entrust that no harm came to the animals involved. I think there's some kind of legal stipulation about any videos, pictures, etc that are used with animals. So I back her statement that the owners probably showed her how to hold the cat and she took a quick shot posed like that.

Glad this skank got flack for that crap. I thought they said 30 years ago to small children that that can fuck up animals holding them like that? Guess all her rich girl pet's were disposable anyway. Hope this pic get's around, and PETA gives her crap for weeks. Hey, maybe she can hook up with mutual animal lover Michael Vicks?
