I want to outline some of the cool shit about model Laetitia Casta
that you might not know about. For a model, she's awfully short, coming in at only 5 feet, 6 1/2 inches tall. Most models average at least 3-4 taller than that. As a teenager, she was discovered by a modeling agency exec who liked how she looked. So in 1993, at the age of 15, she signed on with Guess? jeans, French Elle, and by 1996 (when she was of "legal" age - that meaning, once the Americans could lust after her without feeling semi-pedophiliac about it, Casta was signed on as a regular for Victoria's Secret and ended up in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition for 3 years straight. In 1999, she appeared in one of the most expensive French films ever made, ASTERIX AND OBELIX VS. CAESER. She's appeared on the covers of over 100 different fashion magazines, including Cosmopolitan and Glamour. She's had 4 children, one with a photographer boyfriend and 3 subsequent children with French actor boyfriend, Stefano Accorsi. In her home country of France, there is a tradition to name one woman the "Marianne," the symbol of liberty and republic in France and for a decade, a bust of the chosen Marianne is put in every town hall. From 2000-2010, Casta was France's "Marianne." Laetitia is continuing to act and model although I'm not quite sure what the chimp has to do with this. I just enjoyed reading up on her. Especially about the part that when in London on a trip, she once invited a homeless man to come inside for dinner. Call it whatever you want if you're feeling cynical about the rich, but I still think that's pretty cool.
