Mickey Rourke is at it again with the silicon injections, and it just makes you pray that guy doesn't sit out in the sun too long. I don't believe he's "fixing himself up" for a movie roll, unless he's signed on as the victim in a giant killer bee horror flick. As someone who knows people who've undergone cosmetic surgery (some reasonable, some not), I think it's important to make it known that it can become habitual, and many go overboard with it. Okay, so it's not a secret, but people will never learn unless they're given good (bad) examples.
That's Rourke post-surgery, just last week. He's looking better already! We all know Mickey was lucky enough (and a good enough actor) to make that monstrosity of a mug work, but other celebrities weren't so lucky. Do you remember Lark Voorhies who played Lisa Turtle on "Saved By The Bell"?
Pretty gorgeous gal. Even a decade after the high school sitcom, she looked pretty damn good in the Method Man and Redman flick HOW HIGH. Yet, she herself fell victim to the charms of money-grabbing doctors. I don't see what could have possibly pushed her to have work done, and so frequenlty, too. She's gradually made changes to her face over the years, to the point where it's gotta be indestructable by now. See for yourself...
Now that's f*cked. What the hell could been going through her head (besides syringes and basketball pumps)? It's not even so upsetting to me that this is what she became as much as the fact that she had surgery in the first place. She didn't need it! And now she has to go through life as the second most terrifying Voorhees known to man. At least Jason has the common courtesy to wear a mask.
Okay, I'm an asshole, but I'm just trying to get the point across to young actors and actresses that "fixing yourself up" with injections of botox isn't always a bright way to go. After all, it's the little flaws that make us unique and beautiful. Continue looking at hot chicks now.
