The Top Ten Hottest Graphic Novel Movie Babes
The kids are heading back to school and the summer season of movies is winding down. While the turtles might have pulled out some magic, will the mission be as easy for SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR
? Without the built-in nostalgia market or the little kid angle, I'm guessing not. But that doesn't mean that the movie can't provide for excellent top ten fodder.
I hated the book and I hated the movie and yes, I'm aware that I'm in a microscopic minority group with that opinion but Mario Bello in that cheerleader outfit is a complete f*ck me moment, making a girl want to have a dick.
She has disappeared from the Hollywood eye amid rumours that her father was horrible to deal with and she was even more of an issue. But that doesn't mean that Thora Birch didn't have that geek chick hotness thing going on in GHOST WORLD. Probably the only time in history that she could've ever trumped ScarJo.
She might not be all that much to look at anymore after a career where she wasn't considered all that much to look at but if Lori Petty as TANK GIRL wasn't a alterna-hottie, Gwen Stefani wouldn't have based her early career look and attitude on her. I loved the books and while the rebooted book series isn't as grand as the original, I wouldn't argue with another page to screen film. Perhaps with some Ashley Benson action?
KICK-ASS is one of those graphic novels that I heard a lot about but never have read. Those who have complain about the supposed poor adaptation to screen and I honestly don't even know if Fonseca's character of Katie Deauxma is even in it. It's those hearty f*ck scenes that gain her a place on the list. A well-deserved place.
I could have just as easily gone with her role in the original SIN CITY as well but I'm keen on the throwback glamour look that Gugino rocked in WATCHMEN, bringing to life the Silk Spectre from the books. The biggest problem with the movie wasn't the radioactive blue penis, it was the lack of screen time featuring Carla.
I've voiced my complaint regarding Zoe Saldana being too twiggy to promote any realism behind the scene where she beats up on Jeffery Dean Morgan but that doesn't mean that I didn't find her hot in the otherwise pretty lackluster and annoying flick. Something about a pretty girl holding a couple of guns, gets me every time.
Here's another one of my underrated hotties in the role that celebrated that sexiness. The shorter haircut in the sequel, HELLBOY: THE GOLDEN ARMY, was one of the few times that cutting off locks made the lady a bigger babe. I can remember back to Selma Blair being on television in cheesy shit like "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane," and by the time that she lit up as Liz Sherman, it was like seeing a flower bloom before my eyes.
The biggest burr in my boot is the non-nude stripper that Alba brought to life in the original SIN CITY. If you've had the chance to look at the Frank Miller books, you'll share my disappointment. Sure, Jess is still super hot, which is what kills me. She should have gotten nude. With what little acting talent that she has, I don't understand her high horse mentality on showing off the goodies.
When I was told by a more educated comic book person that THE ROCKETEER counted as a graphic novel adaptation, I was all about putting JenCon high on the list. Not only was she super hot in the film, it was the JenCon of yesteryear - young, glamour goddess and pre-breast-reduction. The only time she was hotter back then was riding that mechanical pony in CAREER OPPORTUNITIES.
SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD counts as a set of graphic novels and even if it didn't, Ramona Flowers has to be one of the sexiest pen to flesh adaptations created for the big screen. Sure, I'm a Pilgrimager who's met MEW at one of the midnight screenings of the movie at the famous New Beverly Cinema but it makes little difference in the face of that undies scene. Win! Collect your coins and revel in your hottie mastery.
