Lizzy Caplan has spreads in 3 different magazines this month, GQ, Nylon and Glamor. She's looking pretty damn fine in all 3. I don't think Lizzy gets enough attention, either as an actress or a hottie. I loved her brand of sardonic humor mixed with a smidgeon of vulnerability on Party Down. I also enjoyed the sight of her bare ass naked on True Blood. Now she's got a new show on Showtime called Masters of Sex, which profiles William Masters and Virginia Johnson, who together formed a research team back in the 50s to learn more about sex and how it worked, which essentially opened the door to the sexual revolution of the 1960s. That's all well and good, but the question on our minds at this point is whether the show is going to live up to its provocative title.
You may have noticed that the longstanding game of one-upmanship between the premium cable networks for who can incorporate the most sexual content in their shows, has gone into hyperspeed lately with shows like Game of Thrones, Spartacus and Californication all vying for sex scene dominance. Perhaps this is Showtime's latest salvo in that ongoing battle. How nice of them to bring in Lizzy as a foot soldier for their soft core spank skirmishes. I have every confidence in Lizzy's ability to fight nobly on that field of battle.
