Olivia Wilde is in this March's edition of Town & Country magazine, putting to shame all kinds of unique architecture with her practically superhuman beauty. Curious to hear her talk about how those same looks were something she felt she needed to overcome in her career. I've never really understood that kind of perspective. Let's be honest, if she didn't have the looks she has, she wouldn't have gotten where she is now. She is a good actress, which affords her many great opportunities that lesser able beauties don't get. Still, it's the face that people see first. The sad truth is that having the acting chops will only carry one so far. Many also need a pretty face to open the right doors to folks who can give them their big break. That's nothing to be ashamed of. That's just the way it is most of the time. If I were her, I wouldn't lament so much about her beauty's influence on her career. That might not be the aspect of her she wants to be remembered as her highest virtue, but it doesn't hurt her any either.
