While I might have liked the books for VAMPIRE ACADEMY, the film version was pretty hokey and definitely not designed for anyone who hasn't read the series to enjoy (hell, at least TWILIGHT tried to embrace the non-read general public). On March 21st, when DIVERGENT gets released, I'll get to figure out if the book series I hated can be turned into a movie that's worth watching.
On a not-really-spoiled alert, I should say that if they remain faithful to the book, there's not going to be a whole lot of hottie Maggie Q featured, even if the trailers for the movie so far are trying to sell you otherwise (same thing goes for Kate Winslet, who is playing a character who has great influence in the books but doesn't really show up in the physical sense all that much). However, what they should show of her might be kinda hot.
If it doesn't turn out that way, the sighting of Q, like here at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, will be what we have to sustain ourselves on until her next movie, A CONSPIRACY ON JEKYLL ISLAND gets released (on the major upside for that movie, the cast also includes AnnaSophia Robb, Dianna Agron and Minnie Driver) some time later this year. Since there won't be anymore "Nikita" for the fans to watch, I'm hoping that the always electric Maggie gets some more roles cast soon.
