Greetings to all my favourite hottie lovers from around the world and best wishes to all of you on this glorious Friday morning (or afternoon/night wherever you are). As most of you may know during the later end of the JOBLO MOVIE SHOW, I was proud to present a series of HOTTIE OF THE MONTH segments which featured sexy and popular actresses who I felt deserved a shout-out for their efforts and gave each of them a sexy tribute as thanks for what they've given us. So far, Zoe Saldana, Angelina Jolie, Olivia Munn, Scarlett Johansson, Salma Hayek and Monica Bellucci have been given this honour and from now on, I'll be awarding this category to a popular actress EVERY MONTH from this moment forward.

It's taken a few years but this particular red-headed goddess is finally getting the attention she deserves. After the critical success of SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been truly exposed around the world and now everyone wants her both professionally and physically. And with the upcoming release of THE THING prequel next year, Mary's got a bright future ahead of her if she stays the course. So with her combined hotness, amazing success and a smile to stop any man dead in their tracks, Mary easily earns the top spot as the HOTTIE OF THE MONTH for August 2010. Yes. I have been a fan since Final Destination 3, which still has the best lead of all the other films. Haven't seen all her movies, but she looks great and really brings the films she's been in up a few notches. Although she hasn't really been in great quality cinema, she always stands out and looks great doing it, while not coming off as too slutty or as trying too hard to be sexy. She just is.

Hottie of Month? Not sure why she deserved that prestigious honour but she does look great the cheerleader outfit or tights she wore in the video tribute though. MEW is cute but a hottie, I'll wait & see. Hopefully, she'll get some scandalous roles as she builds her repertoire. P.S. I liked the ending of Death Proof even though it was a grindhouse film, the last scene reflected how most people really are in everyday life...pricks or cunts, no matter what gender you are.

I love her. Sure, she was under played in Death Proof but Scott Pilgrim made up for it.

I thought Scott Pilgrim had real potential for being a great movie and having an awesome character for Winstead but it failed in my opinion. For someone with as much personality as her, that character was a waste, since she was basically a cartoon character that lacked substance and was depressed all the time. I wanted a role where she could give an awesome performance not one where she recited a long list of teas. But, no problem if you felt differently, and at least we agree, she's a great actress. But, I've yet to see her in a movie that was on the same level as her incredible acting. The fact that she has impressed me with so many performances in lackluster movies makes me think she'll be a million times better in genuine great movies. I look forward to seeing her in something better. She has a ton of potential.

Here's a link to Rosario Dawson talking about that scene. Also, there's another article (but I can't find it) where Winstead said she expected there to be reshoots because she couldn't believe her storyline ended like that. [link]

You gotta remember though Mark, it was a Grindhouse film. The level of common sense and intelligence isn't high with that genre. I think it worked perfectly cause you get quite a reaction from the audience like mine did. It's funny yet disturbing at the same time.

I know but I thought it was in extremely bad taste even for a grindhouse movie. And the cast thought it was an incredibly stupid scene too, which is why they argued with Tarantino to change it.

Winstead is one of my favorite actresses, I love her. But, I think she still hasn't been in a genuinely great movie yet. In particular, I HATED Death Proof. And her character in Scott Pilgrim was a huge disappointment. I don't mind style over substance but style and NO substance got very annoying after a while. As for the video, I'm slapping a thumbs down vote because you included one of the worst scenes in movie history, where Winstead's bitch friends left her with the mechanic and it was
