In a recent interview, Portman explained, "Beauty can be a hindrance, especially if that's the only thing that matters to other people. I'm also aware that being considered attractive can be a huge factor in getting work in my profession." She went on to complain that she's not all that interested in guys who are searching for their own male version of perfect beauty. "Beauty can be boring if you're with a guy who is focused on his looks or your looks all the time. I know a lot of male actors who are totally obsessed with creating a certain look."
So not only does she want you to not focus on how beautiful she is, she doesn't want you to be bending over backwards with any of your froufrou metrosexual crap. What DOES Portman want (other than currently dating a male dancer or previously dating that weirdo musician who wrote songs lovingly dedicated to the members of NAMBLA)? "I appreciate men who are confident in their masculinity, who don't need to work out every day, don't fuss about their appearance. I prefer men who know what they want out of life." Well, that clears a lot up.
