In that wonderfully accepting Christian manner, Katy's mom, Mary Hudson, was quoted as saying, "I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting. Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. I've purchased Perry's CD in one of my classic, "support our SoCal musicians" moves, and so far I've ended up liking the majority of the other songs instead of the Top 40 hit. But I think I like the chick even more after reading what her mother said and imagining what she had to put up with growing up.
