It was friggin' hot here in Cali for Memorial Day. So I'm not surprised Olivia Munn went about her holiday business with a dress that kept the cover at a minimum. Although she should have been a little more careful showing so much skin beneath a dress like this in all that late spring sun, lest she risk having a really weird tan line.
I continue to hear a lot of guff about the 3rd X-MEN prequel and its various failings. While I agree with some of the complaints, I didn't hate it like some others. That said, there was a sense that the flow from the last movie to this one was not as smooth as it should have been. I didn't have anywhere near as much trouble going from FIRST CLASS to DAYS OF FUTURE PAST that way. Some have pointed a finger at Olivia Munn's Psylocke character and some other new faces as the cause of this problem, decrying their relatively scant use in the movie or the 2-dimensional nature of their characters. While this was a problem, I think the much more glaring and problematic issue was Mystique. Their explanation for why she doesn't stick with her natural blue skin was weak and actually harmful to what should have been a natural progression from the Mystique of the prequals to that of the OT.
I get it - Jennifer Lawrence didn't want to wear the make up. So why not just put her in a green suit and CGI that shit? It's not like they can't do it. If they ever give Mystique another go around with Jen, they better go the CGI route. As beautiful as Jennifer was, if she's gonna be Mystique, she needs to look like Mystique. Rant over.
