Like the two Kate's profiled in today's stories, Olivia Wilde was also in attendance at the LACMA Art and Film event, as well as a special screening of her new movie BUTTER at the AFI Fest. Of course, she looked amazing at both events, which is essentially what one expects from Olivia at any given time.
Last week I was discussing the strange turns of fate that appear to relegate anything Amber Heard does into mediocrity, thus keeping her from true super stardom. I find that a similar thing seems to be happening to Olivia. Her situation is perhaps not as acute as Amber's problem - Olivia has had a few successful projects. She nonetheless hasn't really broken into the full on big time yet. Like Amber, her beauty seems to boost her career just as much as the roles she taken, if not more than her roles.
Again, I don't exactly know why that is. She does a lot of low budget, indie stuff, so maybe she's more inclined that way, although she has made a few stabs at big time productions like TRON and COWBOYS AND ALIENS, both of which struggled with earning and critical reviews. She isn't lacking in talent though and she is the singular vision of beauty that we all know her to be. So why she doesn't have the major roles and the superstar status that others of her generation in Hollywood have is a mystery.
