At the top of the list (no surprise to me) was Botox-face, Nicole Kidman. For each dollar that she's earned for her roles, the movies she's been in have only grossed ONE DOLLAR. I thought the point of a movie star was that they were supposed to have earning potential, not drive studios into the poorhouse.
The others on the list were as follows: Jennifer Garner (For every $1 earned, $3.60 was grossed), Tom Cruise ($1/$4), Cameron Diaz ($1/$4), Jennifer Lopez ($1/$4.10), Jim Carey ($1/$4.11), Nicolas Cage ($1/$4.16), Drew Barrymore ($1/$4.38), Will Ferrell ($1/$4.67), and Cate Blanchett ($1/$4.97). Russell Crowe had topped the list the prior year, but with the success of AMERICAN GANGSTER, helped to push himself out of the running this year. So is the point for these people to either charge less or work less? How about we agree to both?
