What do these names have in common? Robert Altman, Bill Maher, Jennifer Aniston, Jack Black, Tommy Chong, Norman Mailer, Michael Bloomberg, James Brown, George W Bush, Matthew McConaughey, George Michael, Robert Mitchum, Bill Murray, Bill Clinton, John Denver, Luke Perry, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, Carl Sagan, Al Gore, Sting, Chrissie Hynd, Mick Jagger, Ted Turner, Dionne Warwick, John F Kennedy and John Lennon. (I'll give you a hint, they're not the people in the attached images below, puffing away on a more publicly acceptable habit. You can feel free to see how many you can guess right though.)
Amongst a huge number of other celebrities and well know authors, directors, et al, these are just a few of the famous people who not only use (or did use) marijuana on a semi-regular to regular basis, but have admitted it and pushed in different ways for its legalization. Which I'm all for. Granted that you stay home, out of your cars and eat up all of the unbaked cake mix you just whipped up because it sounded good but you got too lazy to make it. Is this gossip for the day? Not really. But it's something that we should address more often. Because if celebrities get the easy ride when getting popped for possession (aside from Tommy Chong), then so should the rest of us.
I'll leave you with a quote from the great Stephen King, who says: "I think that marijuana should not only be legal, I think it should be a cottage industry. It would be wonderful for the state of Maine. There's some pretty good homegrown dope. I'm sure it would be even better if you could grow it with fertilizers and have greenhouses. . . ."
