Gabourey Sidibe is the big 'ol black girl who is never going to be forgotten for playing the lead role in the movie PRECIOUS (need I remind you that she did get an Oscar nomination for that abysmally sad and practically impossible to pull off role and that she did DESERVE that nomination??). But the actress hasn't been resting on her laurels and letting herself be considered just the big 'ol black pregnant girl. She's been working hard to keep up her career, from appearing in movies like TOWER HEIST to Showtime's popular drama, "The Big C." Now Gabourey is heading to the next level of cult popularity: FX's showrunner of the extremely popular FX original anthology series, Ryan Murphy tweeted today, "Thrilled to announce Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is joining the cast of 'American Horror Story: Coven,". In addition to Sidibe, Oscar-winner Kathy Bates is also joining the show along with returning popular fixture, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Vera Farmiga's younger sister, Taissa Farmiga. (The two are 21 years different in age, with Vera clocking nearly 40-years old and Taissa a firm nearly-19.)
Anyone else looking forward to this upcoming new anthology installment? I dig me some witches (you know you can blame THE CRAFT for that), so I know I am.
