Favorite Movie? Anything with Angelina Jolie in it.
Favorite Actress? Angelina Jolie... Hot!
Biggest Female Role Model? Definitely my mom. She's a very strong woman who's been through her share of shit and always manages to come out on top with a positive attitude.
What got you interested in roller derby? It's a great way to get out your aggression and what could be better than hittin' bitches without legal repercussions?
Your biggest injury playing the sport? There's always rink rash; Hurts like a bitch for a while, especially in the shower But the biggest for me was either tearing tendons in my ankle or messing up my back. I'm still not sure what exactly is wrong with my back but it effects everything... my hips, knees and neck.
One of your favorite memories from a bout? Definitely when I got thrown out of the game for cutting the track to take this big bitch out. When they announced that I was out of the game and that I had to leave the track, the whole crowd booed. I think that's the day I earned the "crowd favorite" award.
What's the best part about roller derby? It's great exercise, you get to meet a bunch of really cool chicks and you also get your aggression out. Plus, it's a great way to express yourself in the form of an alter-ego.
What's the worst? The injuries. They take you away from something that becomes your life.
Do you consider your roller derby name to be a reflection of yourself, or more of a character that you get to play? It's definitely a reflection of myself. It's no secret to anyone who's ever met me; I'm a potty mouth. But I do play a character. If the ref called a bullshit call on Kelly, she'd probably just mutter "f*ckin prick" under her breath. But Potti yells it right in the ref's face, flips him off and flashes her "kiss my arse" panties on her way out.
What's the best piece of advice that you could give to a girl who was looking into joining a roller derby team? No advice! Just f*cking do it! It will change your life.
What's your personal derby/life motto? "I'm not mean, you're just a pussy."
If you'd like to catch Potti bashing in some heads, well... you're going to have to wait until 2009. Currently #F-U is substituting as #K-U, as she's in the Apatow way. But you can catch all of the other Ventura County Derby Darlins in action. To keep up with their schedule of events, check them out on MySpace.
The next big bash for our girls from California is the Battle For the Coast. In addition to over 100+ RollerHotties being on-hand, there's also Hot Rod and Motorcycle shows and a multitude of vendors selling stuff that you KNOW you want to have. (If you're interested in being a vendor, there are still spots available, but going fast. Click the link for details on how to get involved.)
