Sarah Silverman has never been known as a comedienne with tact, but when she was performing for the audience that gathered at the Friends of the Saban Community Clinic annual dinner gala on Tuesday, she took aim at one of the icons who's image has been most fervently protected over the years.
"I shouldn't mention Walt Disney being a Holocaust denier in this room, right?" she asked the audience. "I'm being a hypocrite because I'm in a Disney movie, but if they do not make a sequel to WRECK-IT RALPH, I will speak my mind."
The Saban Community Clinic is the longest running free clinic in the nation, having been started in 1967 as the Los Angeles Free Clinic and then been bestowed 10 million dollars by benefactors Cheryl and Haim Saban. The dinner gala served to not just be a chance for the chicly dressed Silverman to work her silver tongue but a fundraiser for the clinic as well, which with the help of Silverman and other attendees such as Kristen Bell and Don Cheadle, raked in a solid $1.3+ million in donations.
