What is it with Men's magazines as of lately? First we had ESQUIRE declaring Minka Kelly
was the 'Sexiest Woman Alive' seemingly out of the blue (although on further reflection at least it was an original and ballsy choice), and now we have GQ nominating Scarlett Johansson
as 'Babe of the Year' for the December issue. While I have no qualms with Scarlett being considered a babe (her jiggly talents secure that title), but being the 'Babe of the Year' in this day and age seems like a stale choice on GQ's part. This is odd when you consider GQ is supposed to be on the cutting edge of Men's fashion (complete with oddly colored shirts, peculiar shoes, and overpriced accessories), so selecting Scarlett for this years honor is equivalent to them re-featuring the fashion trends from 2005. It's a safe selection on their part and because of that it comes across as uninspired and lazy. I guess that illustrates the problems with these kind of titles. Either they seem completely off, or just too vanilla when they are cast. Men...such a picky lot when it comes to our T & A.
