Ya'll catch that CAPTAIN AMERICA this weekend? Damn fine movie. It's kind of like if a Marvel and a Jason Bourne movie had a kid. They did a number of things right in this one, including having a shit ton of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow running around. That's always a wise decision. If only more movies could take advantage of that sort of thing. Imagine how much better those chick flicks your girlfriend drags you to would be, had they Scarlett's ass in tight shit, beating pirates to a bloody pulp.
So yeah, a lot of good action, but also some nice character development. The Cap takes a little journey as a human being through the course of this one. He's definitely wrestling with things besides dudes with automatic weapons - although he does a lot of the latter as well. The scene with Agent Carter was particularly heartbreaking. I wont lie - I got a little misty during that one. That's the sort of thing so often overlooked in a lot of these kinds of movies. They get caught up in trying to make flying aircraft carriers crash with perfect realism and cut back on the just as vital need to craft stories with real feeling and human emotions. I was pleased that they didn't skimp like that with this one. Very refreshing.
Oh yeah and Scarlett is in Glamour this month, looking hot. But to reiterate, go see CAPTAIN AMERICA, if you haven't already. It's good.
