For those of us in the states, Veteran's Day means it's time to reflect on our country's patriotism, and to most kids, it means a day off from school. While Monday was a time for reflection of patriotism in America, it was the Venezuelans who were celebrating on Sunday, after the 2013 Miss Universe contest. This year marks the third time Miss Venezuela has been crowned Miss Universe in the last 6 years. Gabriela Isler was chosen by judge Steven Tyler and a bunch of who-the-f*ck-evers as the most gorgeous girl in the galaxy.
At this point, I think we all know these Miss Universe pageants are never going to go away. The all-around awkwardness of events like Miss Universe is what keeps the audience awake for two hours, waiting for someone to trip in their high heels or give a despicably long, incoherent answer to a despicably long, incoherent question. Right from the get-go, I knew her physique would easily get her past the "swimsuit" portion of the show, but I had my eye more on Miss Canada. O, Canada… Still, I'm pleased with Gabriela's win, because our new Miss Universe has a dirty little secret: she takes lots and lots of selflies.
This probably doesn't come as much of a shocker, but Gabriela is indeed very active when it comes to her social media photo-sharing. She obviously spends a lot of time working out and trying on mouth-watering outfits, and she doesn't hesitate to share pics of either one of those activities. If this sounds like something you may be interested in, you can check out Gabriela's Instagram HERE, or her Twitter HERE. For now, enjoy some pics of Miss Universe 2013, wearing a big smile that's visible from space...
