I'll take any excuse to post a story about Natasha Henstridge and I feel that this is the perfect opportunity to do so. DVDActive.com has posted the latest scoop on a "Species: Collector's Edition" which comes out on October 2, 2007. Here is their quick paragraph on it's content:
Fox/MGM Home Entertainment has announced a collector's edition of Species which stars Natasha Henstridge, Ben Kinglsey, Forest Whitaker, Michael Madsen, and Alfred Molina. The two-disc release will be available to own from the 2nd October, and should retail at around $19.98. The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS 5.1 tracks. Extras will include an audio commentary by Natasha Henstridge, Michael Madsen and Director Roger Donaldson, a second commentary by Director Roger Roger Donaldson, Producer Frank Mancuso Jr., Visual Effects Supervisor Richard Edlund and Creature/Special Make-Up Effects Creator Steve Johnson, an “Engineering Life” featurette, a “H.R. Giger At Work: Designing Species” featurette, and a “The Making of Species” featurette. Completing the package will be four further 'making of' featurettes (“The Origin”, “The Concept”, “The Discovery”, and “Designing a Hybrid”), an alternate ending, “Project Sil” image files and photo gallery, the original theatrical trailer, and a Species IV: The Awakening Sneak Peek.
That sounds like a pretty sweet release and I'll definitely be grabbing it for sure. It sucks that there aren't any extra nude scenes with Natasha in this package but I will continue to cross my fingers for future releases. Check out the awesome artwork as well below!
