I wonder what would have transpired in Kate Upton's career had the internet and those of us fueling its content, not decided to get such a hard-on for her. One of the biggest factors that Katy Perry mentions in her key to gaining a groundswell in her popularity despite the fact that most of those who lust after her can't stand her music is that the drones who share images on different gossip sites went crazy for her. Didn't matter that there were some who took cheap shots at her supposedly flabby ass or lack of talent. It was the constant stream of attention, positive and negative, that kept her in the spotlight. Upton can refer to the same experience. Because we got a whiff of something good, she's been blown to monumental proportions of notoriety in an extremely short amount of time. All without having to do much other than pose, look good and let the chips fall where they may. Two pics of her in bikinis is enough to keep people talking. And the chatter on the web is stronger than the person-to-person word of mouth that happened in the old days. This is where you WANT to be viral, people.
