If you're a regular visitor of MovieHotties, it pretty much goes without saying that you dig yourself some comic book movie tail. I'm talking about the bodacious babes of the comic book movie world, of which there are a bunch. Out of that bunch, there are plenty of memorable, "gif-able" moments to choose from, which is why we're dedicating this week's "TGIFs" to the hottest hotties in comic book movie history. Naturally, this is to celebrate this weekend's release of X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, which we at JoBlo are getting paid huge bucks to promote, because it so clearly needs the hype. And now, thanks to my check from 20th Century Fox, I can afford to get more awesome tattoos like this. So, let's get down to business and ogle some comic book ladies in motion, shall we?
The majority seems to forget that the Jim Carrey comedy/fantasy THE MASK is based on a comic book, and I include myself with that oblivous bunch. It's still a fun film to go back and revisit, whether it be for the special effects, Carrey's comedic ambition, or at the very least, Cameron Diaz looking her absolute finest.
There are so many "Catwomen" to choose from these days, but the most obvious choice (in this situation) is Anne Hathaway's portrayal of the fine, felonious feline. Seriously, where would the superhero movie franchise be today if it weren't for spandex? Nowhere, that's where.
Here's another movie that's criminally underlooked as far as the dawn of "comic book-based movies" go, THE ROCKETEER. The government may have dropped the ball when they promised us jet-packs back in the day, but this movie brought the fantasy back to life. Speaking of fantasies, here's one of my ultimate fantasies, Jennifer Connelly delicately putting on her stockings.
And now, here's a comic book movie which seems to have gotten lost between the cracks, THE LOSERS. If you remember seeing this film in theaters a few years ago, you most likely remember all the Zoe Saldana hotness which took place. If not, here's a friendly reminder, from behind her.
All week long, we've been directing a large portion of our attention to Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and she damn well deserves it. Of course, we're all excited to see how well she still "suits the part" this weekend, but we've gotten a pretty clear idea. This gif is all the convincing we really need.
Damn you, Michael Cera, for being a Jim Henson creation with a career in comedy. I don't know what the dude is up to now, but the fact that he filmed this scene with Mary Elizabeth Winstead just a few years ago makes me furious. I actually like the guy for the most part, but I'm warning you, keep your hands off my MEW!
The film adaptation of Frank Miller's SIN CITY was actually a great example of how comic book movies could be made. It was well-received by the comic-loving audience, but clearly one scene stuck out above the rest, and that was Jessica Alba's performance as "Nancy". Remember how popular the poster of this character was back in the day? I do. I still have her hanging above my bed.
You can't mention comic book movie hotties without bringing up the Black Widow, as portrayed by Scarlett Johansson. With IRON MAN 2, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and THE AVENGERS, there are plenty of great moments for this babe in a black bodysuit. However, I prefer her in this low-cut dress from the opening scene in THE AVENGERS. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: I would be perfectly fine with death by Johansson's thighs.
