Before today, did I have any intention at all to check out BEAUTIFUL CREATURES in theaters this weekend? No. Does this promotional photo of Emmy Rossum wishing us a "naughty" Valentine's Day change my mind? No, but it's still an attention grabber, and a pretty blunt attempt by the producers to turn a profit over the next couple days. Emmy Rossum is the one thing about CREATURES that might make it watchable, but with the word-of-mouth films like WARM BODIES and SIDE EFFECTS have been receiving, not to mention ROLL OVER AND DIE HARD (or whatever they're calling it), I'd say the competition's stiffer than I got ogling that Kate Upton Swimsuit spread. By the way, if you're going to use sex to sell your movie, do it early on with some dignity, not at the last minute when it seems desperate. This is where SPRING BREAKERS deserves some credit. To prove my point, I've added some pictures of a half-naked Emmy from Details and Esquire magazine. I just did you a HUGE favor, Warner Bros.
