While this is reportedly just a "preview" of a video strip tease Natalie Portman will be doing for NY Times Magazine this coming Sunday, I have to say I'm a bit bored thus far. It's probably due to the red band trailer for YOUR HIGHNESS going for the jugular with Natalie stripping down to a thong, a few weeks ago. We've been to Natalie's promised land, now this just seems like a trip down artsy-fartsy lane. This reminds me of how I used to view foreign cinema as a child. Drab, depressing, oddly paced, but with an extremely serious score in the background. I was waiting for someone to randomly pop out and shoot her in the back, which of course would be followed by a huge FIN covering the screen, while she slumped in the chair during the the credits. Natalie was recognized as a person who defined cinema in 2010, and will join a few other stars in the NY Times magazine spread and video pictorials. I'm hoping they're not all as depressing as this one.
