What I find interesting about this Wantful: The Art of Giving exhibition that went down over the weekend is that there was so much primo ass there and yet I don't fully understand what the whole deal was about. So I went and looked it up. Turns out it's a gift-giving website for those who have no clue how to buy presents for others or just don't understand the sales that stores have between now and December 25th. Here's the thing: If you have a friend you need to get a gift for and they're usually picky, etc, you can log onto the site, choose from all different sorts of items that normally tickle your gift receiver's fancy, setting the price that you're willing to pay. The site then finds 16 different items that qualify with that information and creates a "gift book" that is sent to the receiver in a neat looking little box wrapped in Japanese styled paper. The receiver chooses from the booklet which of the 16 items in the catalog they like the best and the gift is wrapped, delivered and done for you. You've already bought it, essentially, you just weren't sure which "it" was going to make the receiver of the gift happiest. Blah blah blah... really cool idea for when you have moms like mine who say, "Oh, just get me anything" and then look less than thrilled when they open the package. Amongst those who attended are
Rashida Jones, Brooklyn Decker, Ali Larter and Kristen Bell.
