So let me take a break from the ogling of cans for a minute to address something that's bugging me. See, pretty much everyday there are an army of photographers massed outside where Katie Holmes and her husband Tom Cruise live, all looking for a shot of the famous couple. Lately though, their kid, Suri, has started to garner a lot of the attention. So much so that the kid is obviously feeling the pressure, as demonstrated by the pic of her desperately trying to hide herself.
Now, most mothers I know would seek to shelter their kid from such insanity by, I don't know, maybe getting in between the cameras and their scared kid. But not Katie. No, she marches the kid right out in the lead position, to face the harsh glare on her own. Oh and make sure she doesn't have the big-haired doll to cover her face with. Mommy will take that. Seriously, this is some bullshit.
I don't know what the deal is with these people. I don't know if they're trying to play into the publicity their kid gets or even make her some kind of toddler celebrity in her own right. Whatever is happening, there's something basically wrong with exposing a 5-year old to the harsh glare of the media like that - especially if it's against their will, as it would appear from these and other pics of Suri I have seen. If there's a better recipe for screwing them up later in life, I don't know what it could be.
