Apparently everyone was a this iHeart radio thing last week, including Gwen Stefani, who was performing, I assume, with her recently reunited No Doubt band mates. I've gushed relentlessly before about how well Gwen and her abs are holding up and I will continue to do so. However, isn't it just a tiny bit weird that she's still sporting basically the same same kind of stage gear she used to wear 20 years ago? I get that her whole thing has been the exposed tummy bit. Still, 20 years on, it's still got an air of tribute about it, rather than an authentic styling choice. The same way that Kiss putting on the make up for their shows was more of a tribute to their heyday than something they were doing to keep fresh and new. I've never been able to stomach that thing where aging rock stars take their old looks and make them trademarks in a present day bid for nostalgia. Sure Gwen, your tummy really should be front and center, but feel free to work in some new styles from time to time. I don't feel like being nostalgic yet.
