When HBO's "Girls" nabbed two Golden Globes last night (for Best Actress in Television Series- Comedy/Musical, and Best Television Series- Comedy/Musical), it came to me as quite a surprise. The only other award the program has won thus far is the Emmy for "Outstanding Casting in a Comedy Series". On top of that, the first season of "Girls" received modest ratings. I checked it out when it first aired, in the hopes that Apatow still had some magic left in him, but it didn't make me laugh so much as roll my eyes and scratch my head. Then, when I gave it second chance, the same thing happened. The characters played by Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke and Allison Williams are all unlikable people, who indirectly corrupt the life of their more innocent friend played by Zosia Mamet. It almost seems like "Sex & The City" for a younger generation, which simply terrifies me. But if we put it that way, exactly how much sex appeal does this show have? The only clearly attractive actress on the show is Allison Williams, while the rest of the girls are more average-looking. But hey, that's just my opinion. What do YOU think of the cast of the now Golden Globe-winning program "Girls"?
