Bio / Info
Born Elisabeth Judson Shue in Wilmington, Delaware, the actress was originally seen playing soccer when she was cast in the 1984 movie THE KARATE KID, making the scenes where she pretends that she doesn't know how to play the sport somewhat ironic. Later in 2007, the movie GRACIE was released, based in part on Shue's personal life and her goal to become an established female soccer player. Younger brother Andrew Shue went into the acting business as well, although he also eventually pursued a career in soccer. Nominated for a Best Actress Academy award for her role in 1995's LEAVING LAS VEGAS, Shue has remained one of the most beloved hotties of the 1980's. Married to director Davis Guggenheim since 1994, the couple have 3 children together. In recent years, Shue came back to the movies in a role playing herself in 2008's HAMLET 2. She is set to star in JANIE JONES and PIRANHA 3-D in 2010.
