Bio / Info
Born in Muscat, Oman, a smallish country just south of Iran and next to the more recognized country of Yemen, Isla Fisher is the daughter of Scottish parents who moved to and raised Isla in Australia starting in the early 1980's. By the time she was 9 years old, Isla was acting in Australian TV commercials as well as gaining some smaller roles on Australian television shows. With a tiny role in the first SCOOBY-DOO movie, it wasn't until she played the younger and sex-crazed sister of Rachel McAdams in 2005's WEDDING CRASHERS that the actress gained serious notice the world round. Highly recognized for her auburn locks, high-pitched voice and sunny optimism in most of her roles, Fisher has honed her comedic skills in many movies as well as a relationship with funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen, the creator of BORAT, whom she married in 2010 and has two daughters with. After marrying Cohen, Fisher converted to Judaism and legally changed her first name to Ayala, meaning "doe" in Hebrew.
