What's it about
An inspector is after a bunch of crooks who steal a robot. The inspector foolishly dreams that he is an excellent samurai, and the movie constantly flashes back in time. Hi-jinx ensue!
Is it good movie?
This movie may have been popular at some point but I don't think too many people have heard of it and although it's not completely horrible, it's a dated spoof of Japanese culture that just isn't very funny. Zero Mostel plays a Japanese Clouseau who guards an android and has daydreams of being an awesome Japanese warrior. Laughing yet?

That's about all there is to it- the movie is full of wacky slapstick that isn't terribly funny and basically has those two plot threads- normal Mostel and Samurai Mostel, as he daydreams about catching a princess. The acting with Mostel and the Japanese actors is pretty brutal because there's just no chemistry on the set and things come off sort of forced.

This movie might be your cup of tea if you like watching a lot of pratfalls and goofiness. Stuff like bonking heads when bowing to each other, a lot of silly fight scenes, sped up fight scenes featuring a lot of foolish looking people in bald cap top knots and a samurai with a death wish. I hate to say it, but I felt like this movie really spends a lot of time ridiculing the Japanese rather than poking fun at them and that sometimes seems to walk the thin line between parody and prejudice. I dunno- I think a lot of people might disagree with that but this just wasn't my kind of flick. It might just be me, but I don't often find myself rolling in the aisles when a white person plays another nationality.
Video / Audio
Video comes in a relatively clean Full screen presentation and looks like a 60's Batman episode.

Audio is listed only as stereo' and sounds as such.
The Extras
Last Call
Well, it's not like Mastermind is the worst thing I've ever seen, you can consider it to be a strange Asian precursor to stuff like Austin Powers. If you really dig a cross between The Spy who Shagged Me and Beverly Hills Ninja, you might dig this. As for me, I'm still wondering how and why this movie made it to Arrow in the Head..
