What's it about
Four friends on a boating trip get stranded on an island. Before long, they discover that the island in question cannot be found on any map. While investigating their new surroundings they stumble upon unexplainable and deadly occurrences.
Is it good movie?

The title Naufrage translated in english means Shipwreck and that’s exactly what the short was, an utter and complete wreck. The director Olivier Béguin must have poured his soul (and wallet) into this, which is why I almost feel bad telling you that this is not even worth the try. There’s nothing worth mentioning, actually there is, but it’s all bad.

The chemistry between the players is laughable. The only thing they gave us are various degrees of anger (somewhat angry, angry, very angry and pissed). It's actually quite reminiscent of something you would see in a play involving preschoolers. Can someone explain to me why everyone was having a hissy fit for no clear reason? At times the cinematography of Florian N. Gintenreiter showed promise, but for most of the running time (21 minutes), it felt awkward and amateurish. There were not a lot of special effects but after seeing what little they did have in the tank I should consider myself lucky. The flying rocks, yeah classic! The make up was the worst I’ve seen since Burial Ground.

So far, as you can see, nothing really good is being said about this crapsterpiece but hold on my friends, you’re probably thinking you would get some decent TnA right? God you don’t know how wrong you are! Mind you the chicks here did not need make up to look shipwrecked. In fact, the sex scene made Brokeback Mountain look sexy!! There is nothing like a good session of angry sex with your pants on!

With all that being said, Naufrage is still getting buzz in the festival circuits. It has been selected in the following: Festival de Sitges, Griffon International Film Festival, Ravenna Nightmare Film Festival and Festival Internacional de Jovenes Realizadores. I am well aware of the budget restraints the production had to deal with, but this is not an uncommon issue when it comes to filmmaking. Many other shorts also had micro budget but pull it off way better than this one. Maybe I’m missing something, but in all fairness I just can’t recommend Naufrage to anyone.

Naufrage is neither good nor memorable. Here is something for the captain’s log: Ahoy matee, avoid this one!!
