What's it about
A group of sex-hungry teens at a Christian boarding school decide to party it up on Halloween night at the notorious Hull House. Too bad for them the house is haunted by a crazed (and quick witted) demon named Angela who wants to turn them all into evil (and ugly) demons, just like her.
Is it good movie?
I've never seen NIGHT OF THE DEMONS, so I was a little unsure what to expect when I popped this beast in and settled down for a night of genre fun. Three minutes in a couple of missionaries and hacked to bloody pieces, and two minutes after that, I'm looking at a dorm full of high school hotties prancing around naked, with boobs and ass flying all over the place. Least to say, I was surprised... and totally stoked! With a beginning like this, what other awesomeness did this flick have instore?

With a slap of humor, my question was answered: more of the same. And when we're talking more of the same being more nudity and more disgustingly gory violence, that's not necessarily a bad thing! With a cast of mildly likable slutty teens (who look like they're in their late 20s), a hard-as-nails bitch of a nun who uses her ruler as a weapon (and who comes off as cool in the final act), and a wise cracking (and ugly) villain who isn't the least bit scary, the enjoyment of this movie came right down to the basic key elements of imaginitive gross-out gore and ample nudity... hey, it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but it sure is entertaining as hell!

The obvious goal behind this flick was to have fun, show off some sweet gore effects, and give the viewers a taste of some T&A, which it did and then some. Not to say there wasn't some style tossed in there from time to time (like the creepy demon snake and the malevolent 'demon-vision', though arguably a rip-off of EVIL DEAD), but overall it wasn't about style or anything else, it was about gore F/X and nudity. And you can't really falter a movie for trying to accomplish that, now can you?

Least to say the other factors (story, acting, etc...) were lacking big time, but really... what do you expect? Oscar performances? Or how about a pair of boobies that would like nothing more than to shake your hand? If you're expecting the later, you won't be disappointed.

Note: the exploding by sunlight scene in the end, and the squirt gun/water balloon artillery used against the demons echoed a lot like some key elements from FROM DUSK TILL DAWN... yet NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2 was released a full 2 years earlier. Hmmm....

Video / Audio
Video: Presented in Full Screen (blah), the image was clear enough, but nothing to write home about.

Audio: 2.0 Stereo... not the greatest, but it wasn't bad either.

The Extras
There are NO extra features on this disc, unless you count trailers, which include ALONE IN THE DARK: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT, BUG, THE CONDEMNED, CURSE OF ALCATRAZ, PIRATES OF GHOST ISLAND, and a Red-Band trailer for BLOODY MALLORY.
Last Call
If there's a part of you that misses cheap, trashy horror flicks from the early-mid 90s, enjoys an ample amount of gratuitous nudity and gross-out gore/violence, and finds that light-hearted horror with a splash of humor equals a good time, then NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2 is for you! If you're looking for something more... look elsewhere. The DVD is a little too bare bones for me, but then again, nothing screams cheap 90s horror like a DVD receiving the VHS treatment.
