Is it good movie?
Pervertis not a film I would ever pay to see. Nor would I really seek it out, in any sense of the word. To be perfectly honest, I don't really watch movies like this and haven't really enjoyed one since I was 14. Not that there's anything wrong with a movie like this. Pervertis essentially a throwback to Russ Meyer films of yore; a movie about tons of boobs, blood and silly characters. The acting is silly, the plot is nonexistant- Pervert exists solely to appeal to the senses which enjoy blood and gore.
This movie is really a tongue in cheek sort of film, it is self aware and self-deprecating, and carries with it a sort of sweet natured sense of humor. I know it might sound silly that a film that involves a killer penis (yeah, i'm not making this up) could be sweet, but Pervert means no harm, and does indeed accomplish what it sets out to do- it entertains on the most bare levels. The whole thing definetely carries a purposeful "so bad it's good" type of vibe.
As mentioned before, the acting is awful. Former porn starlet/gubernatorial candidate (yeah, she lost to the governator) Mary Carey is just brutal, but her boobs are bared often. And there are jokes galore, although I didn't find myself laughing all that often.
This is all for nought though, because if you're renting or buying a movie called Pervert, you probably aren't too concerned with the plot. There are a ton of boobs, stupid murders and a stupid plot. Pervertmission has surely been accomplished.
Video / Audio
Video is brought to us in 1.85.1 widescreen, and is relatively crisp and clear, nothing out of the oridinary.
Audio comes in Dolby Digital and has dandy properties, sounds like an old clunker, appropriately.
Do you like director Jonathan Yudis? Because if so, you'll dig these two commentary tracks, one with him and the cast, and one with him and the writers. He manages to be fairly excited and frenetic, and keeps both tracks interesting, despite the fact that TWO commentary tracks on a movie like this seems a bit unnecessary.
Into the Chasm of the Hyper Vixens: The Making of Pervert! is a little featurette that details how this little low-budget film came together. It's interesting enough to watch once, but like I said, you probably didn't come to see how this film was made.
You'll also get some deleted scenes, an extended scene, a few bloopers, a music video, and even some trailers.
Regardless of what I think, Pervert remains a movie that is about giant fake boobs and silliness all around. It doesn't matter that the sex scenes aren't hot, and most of the boobs are absolutely huge, I guess this movie will find its audience, and that's ok with me, because I can respect a man who has a love for boobs; I just think that there are better ways to see them.
