What's it about
Steve leaves his wife and his daughter Justine is freaked out because the world is going straight to hell, and most of this happens in front of a green screen!
Is it good movie?
I want to start off by saying that Iíve never seen PULSE, but if itís anything like PULSE 2 I plan on doing my personal best to avoid it. Iím not a fan of J-horror, and hate seeing that girl from THE RING in so many Hollywood movies. I expected to see that girl, the one with the long black hair in her face, and to my surprise she wasnít in this movie, but neither was anything good. This movies makes most SciFi original movies look like masterpieces of cinema.
Most of the movie is shot on a green screen and it is extremely noticeable (just rent a cabin for Godís sake!). It took me out of the movie for pretty much itís entire runtime. So much so that Iím not sure exactly what the movie is about. I know that Steve is having woman problems, and his daughter is about to have a breakdown, but other than that it gets fuzzy for me. Basically I think the movie is about the color red and a family with problems that live in a badly rendered video game.
Iím a fan of technology and ghosts, and I even enjoy green screen flicks when done right, but this flick was just outright terrible. Why is it that the filmmakers didnít just find locations like, an apartment, or a cabin is beyond me. Maybe Iíd have enjoyed the film more if they would have made it interactive. Figure out a way to let me use my X-Box controller to move the characters around the terrible green screen sets, and Iíd totally have enjoyed this game (movie). I have really been digging Dimension Extreme lately but this was just ridiculous.
Video / Audio
Audio: The audio was pretty awesome actually. It sounded great on my surround sound system.
Video: The video also looked really good. To bad the movie was really bad.
Commentary Track: This is a good track with lots of crew participation, and they actually talk about how they wanted to make the film like 300, but for the horror genre. That didnít work out, but the track is more entertaining than the movie.
Deleted Scenes: This is better than the movie because there are only two scenes and they are short.
Pulse 3 Sneak Peek: Didnít look terrible, but Iím really not interested.
Avoid this movie at all costs.
