I have never seen gore, guffaws, and singing combined so effortlessly and fantastically. And the fact that the majority of the cast is comprised of adolescents takes nothing away from the quality of this little flick. The kids as well as the scout master adult and the main "baddie" are all excellent. Their comedic timing, facial expressions, and voices were so impressive, I honestly wished that this was a full length feature.
Okay, so maybe there was a slight mistep around the ending, but BEAVER DAM was still just unlike anything I've ever seen before. I was literally laughing out loud so often. The humor was so simple, yet worked outstandingly. Having an adult using the f-word to berate a child just has this amazing universal appeal. Even the gore effects were efficient and pretty plentiful. And once everyone started rocking out in a blasting ballad, I couldn't help but bang my head along with them.
