What's it about
Olaf and his mother run a boarding house and a white slavery ring. They also smuggle heroin to keep the addict girls happy so they do not try and escape. A young couple move into the house and the evil landlords take a liking to the female.
Is it good movie?
I admit it. This DVD has been sitting on my shelf for a solid few weeks now and I've been avoiding it. Now that is partly because I was just on vacation for about a week, and partly because this is about an evil midget who tortures and imprisons little girls. Could I handle it? Of course! Can I review it objectively? Man, could anyone?

The main character, Torben Bille used to be a beloved children's TV show host in real life- can you believe that? Doesn't that make this more evil? This same guy is the depraved and sick individual who just runs amok of people in this flick. The guy plays the role almost as you would expect- he takes his childish appearance and runs with it. He lives with his evil mom and seems to have channeled his sexual urges into peeping on chicks and pimping them out. As for his mom? She's a former dancer who is always dressing up and can't forget her past.

Most of this movie involves sex and violence. Are you hooked yet? Olaf the dwarf really falls for a lady named Mary and risks blowing the whole operation and that's essentially the crux of the movie- her husband goes to the cops and the little guy can't help but indulge. Don't get this wrong though because this isn't much of a movie. I believe it was meant to be more porn than anything else.

Olaf walks into a room and peeps on people having sex. This is more or less the whole movie, and there is very little that looks at relationships. He does beat a few people with his cane and there's a bit of death in the end but it isn't enough.

Ultimately, I expected a lot more from this movie. I thought I'd be shocked and grossed out. Instead I was treated to a bunch of tame 70's sex and some lame horror elements which don't add up very well. They could have fleshed out the tortured character of Olaf but they don't touch on much. Well, you can't have every sexploitation/dwarfsploitation flick be a winner.
Video / Audio
This ugly little movie is presented in ghastly 1.33:1 full frame and looks pretty terrible. It's dark, grainy, poorly colored and just bad overall.

Audio doesn't fare well either. Where's the original language? All we get is an English track and it isn't that impressive.
The Extras
You get a trailer, some radio spots and a DVD spot.

There's also The Severin Controversy, a silly little 10 minute featurette which is all fluff about how evil this film is. It's entertaining, but without substance and without any interview of Torben!
Last Call
Ultimately this one was a disappointment because it's not really about Olaf the Dwarf but instead about lame sex scenes that don't add much to the proceedings at all. The dwarf stuff is good, but there isn't enough of it. If nothing else, this little film will leave you that much more afraid of Jack Black (since Olaf looks a lot like him). Some people might find this more disturbing than I did- I guess I just hoped for more.
