What's it about
A virus gets loose and turns everyone into mindless zombies. Our story deals with Beta Group, who are on the hunt for survivors but instead find only zombies. It's up to them to try and survive the horde as they batten down the hatches and shack up in a small home.
Is it good movie?
Eh, I need to get a bit off my chest before I start this official review. This movie looks, feels and is very, very cheap. I mean it's so cheap that it honestly looks like a project my friends and I could put together if we had a couple months off, a decent looking camera and an Imac to edit. I say this solely because we tend to do that from time to time. The difference between us and them is that although they're cool for something put together for nothing, they're not movies that everyone wants to see. Sure, stuff like this might be where student filmmakers get noticed, but for the general public, I don't know why you'd want to sit down and watch this for any real length of time. The whole thing feels like it was made for a couple hundred bucks. Again- if I were showing this off to friends, I would hope they would think it was cool and badass. If I were showing it to reviewers, I'd be really, really nervous.

Anyway, this is a full length (and undoubtedly too long) zero-budget film and I can honestly say that I sat through the whole thing, although it was taxing at times. I mean, no matter how good your story might be (and this one isn't overly good), when you look like you're filming in a friend's backyard you'll likely end up distracting your audience from your suspension of disbelief. If there's any real compliments I can give the movie its that it tends to be edited quite well, with some great zombie audio offering up the movie's only real scares.

The film would be pretty decent if it had a budget, and it's not a stupid movie. The movie has some decent dialogue and some good ideas. The acting is terrible and the zombie effects can be laughable but if you're taking this movie solely on what the filmmakers were trying to accomplish, I guess it deserves marks. I just don't know how this movie could make it against anything that has any serious production value. The filmmakers know how to get some okay scares and don't go way beyond their budgetary means but that doesn't mean that I can shout praise from the mountaintops.

Last Call
If you're a HUGE lover of zero-budget movies, this one will likely thrill you. I suppose I just can't bring myself to get fully invested in that sort of movie. As a zombie survival story, the movie is coherent enough to garner some attention but it's hard not to be distracted. This isn't a fault to the filmmakers-keep doing what you're doing and kick that ass..I just don't know if this is exactly AITH material (sorry!)..
